VENUE and LOCAL INFO

The conference will be held at the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences at the University of Salzburg (NAWI University Salzburg). The address is

The conference building is located close to the city centre, and can be reached easily by foot or by bus.

HOW TO GET AROUND

Public Transportation: Starting from May 1, 2025, Salzburg will introduce the Guest Mobility Ticket for public transport, a new initiative aimed at enhancing sustainable tourism and public transportation. This ticket allows overnight guests to use all public transportation within the Salzburg region for free during their stay.

 From Salzburg Hauptbahnhof

• By bus line 3 or 8: Stop at Faistauergasse (3-5 min walk to the venue)
• Bus line 22: Stop at Michael-Pacher-Strasse (in front of the building)
• Regional bus lines 170 or 175: Stop at Akademiestrasse (5-6 min walk to the venue)
• Bus line 840: Stop at Josefiau (5-6 min walk to the venue

From Salzburg-Süd (S-Bahn Station and Park&Ride)

• By bus line 3 or 8: Stop at Faistauergasse (3-5 min walk to the venue)

From Salzburg Airport

• By bus line 10: Stop at Rathaus, then transfer to line 170, 22, 8 or 11.

Cycling to the Venue: Salzburg is considered a very bicycle-friendly city and is wonderful to explore by bike. A number of rental points for bikes and e-bikes are available. If you are interested in renting a bike for the duration of the ESD11, please check here.

By foot: The city centre and many hotels are located close to the ESD11 venue. 

• the JUFA Hotel Salzburg City is about 1 km away, or a 15 min walk 
• the Arcotel Castellani is about 750 m away, or a ~10 min walk.
• and even the city center (cathedral) is only about 1,8 km away, or a ~20-25 min walk.
